Different installation components are associated with different functions. Using TIBCO Universal Installer, you can select installation components during the installation.
Installation components are grouped into different installation profiles. One installation profile is associated with one or more installation components. When you select a profile, the components grouped in the selected profile are installed. By default, the
Typical installation profile is selected, therefore, the
Design and Runtime components are installed.
The following installation components are available for TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter Framework:

|
This component includes all the Eclipse graphical user interface(GUI) for ActiveMatrix Adapter Framework. You can configure your own adapter configurations and business processes in TIBCO Business Studio with the Eclipse GUI.

| Runtime
|
This component includes Adapter Administration, which is used to deploy and run Enterprise Archive (EAR) files of adapter projects by using a command line.
Note: You can install this component independently without installing ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x.

| Adapter to Plug-in Migration
|
This component is used to migrate ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x projects, containing Adapter Services and AE Palette activities, to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x or ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Container Edition projects, containing Plug-in activities.
Note:
- For ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x, this component is automatically installed using the Design or Typical installation profiles based on the current version of ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x installed. The selection of this component is not required. For information on supported ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x versions, refer to the Readme.
- For ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Container Edition, this component is installed only using the Adapter-to-Plug-in-Migration installation profile.
