Once you have specified the migration points, you must define a migration rule. The migration rules specify the source process version and destination process version to migrate to, and the migration point at which to migrate.
Note that:
Any existing data entered in the process instance is retained after migration, along with any new default data resulting from the process template that the process instance has migrated to.
