Calendar References
Business processes and timer events can have calendar references which link them to appropriate calendars. This enables you to reflect situations where different parts of the organization have different working patterns.
Assigning a calendar reference is done in TIBCO Business Studio. See the "Intermediate Events" section in the TIBCO Business Studio Process Modeling User’s Guide for more information on calendar references in Business Studio.
The calendar reference consists of either:
- a calendar alias (free text that identifies a calendar), enabling a user to map the reference to the most appropriate base or overlay calendar, using the Calendar gadget in Openspace, or
- a reference to a process data field that will provide the calendar alias at runtime.
A TIBCO Openspace user can then map the reference (also called calendar aliases in Openspace) to the appropriate base or overlay calendar, using the Calendar gadget in Openspace. The Openspace user can then map the calendar reference to an organizational entity. This associates the calendar represented by that reference with the organizational entity, and as such the calendar can be used in calculating deadlines.
See the chapter "Using the Calendar Gadget" in the TIBCO Openspace User’s Guide for more information.
