Promoting a Component Property

When you promote a component property, a property with the same name is created in the composite. You can promote an existing property from the properties icon.

• Right-click a component property icon and select Tasks > Promote.
  If the composite does not have a property with the same name as the component property the composite property with the same name is created. If the property already exists, a property with the name with an integer appended is created. In both cases, property icon is added to the composite and the source of the component property is set to the composite property.
