Audit Logging

The TCM Web Client audit log can provide following details about an activity:

•	The operation that took place

•	The transport protocol used

•	The status on the activity

•	The ID of the transaction activity

•	The date of the transaction activity

To view the Audit Log, click the Audit Log tab on the menu bar.

 

The TCM Web Client audit log page provides the following details:

•	Operations pane: Displays operations that you track regularly.

•	Saved Searches pane: Allows you to create a saved search and view previously saved searches.

•	Calendar pane: Allows you to select the audit log for a specific date.

•	Tools bar: Provides a column icon to display the log details, a reload icon to refresh the contents of the log, and a search text box to locate specific items in the log.

•	Log Display pane: Provides details about an activity.

 

Operation	Name of activity that took place.
Protocol	The transport protocol used.
Status	The status on the activity.
Transaction ID	The unique ID assigned to the activity.
Date	The date and time the activity occurred. You can display oldest first or most recent first.

You can search for operations, save search criteria, and view the audit log.

Task G Viewing Operations That Are Audited

You can view the operations by Document Type that the trading host defines, in the Operations pane on the Audit Log page. Click the arrow button to display (or hide) the operations.

Expand or collapse the Document Type tree by clicking the dots button on the right of the Operations title bar.

Task H Creating a Saved Activity Search

1.	In the Saved Searches pane on the audit log page, click the dots icon and select Create a new saved search.

The Advanced Search dialog displays.

2.	Enter the name you want to assign to your saved search in the Search name text box.

3.	Click the arrow button in the Protocol box to select from the drop-down menu the transport protocol.

4.	Click the button that completes the action you want.

Search	Find the information you want.
Save search and view results	Find the information you want, save the search, and display the results.
Cancel	Stop this action and close the dialog.

Click the + icon to add attributes that you want to use as part of your search criteria.

Task I Managing Saved Activity Searches

1.	In the Saved Searches pane on the audit log page, click the dots icon and select Show saved search.

The Saved Search dialog displays.

2.	Select the option that completes the action you want.

Select all	Select check box to choose all saved searches in the list.
Reload icon	Click the reload icon to refresh the list.
Create	Click button to set up a new saved search.
Delete selected	Click button to remove saved searches you have selected.
