Deploying Modules on Cloud MDM

Using the Deployment Wizard you can deploy the repository models. The relationship, output map, input maps, classification, and rulebase associated with the repository are listed under relevant repository. You can select each individual component or full model for deployment.

  • When .rep file (repository model) is selected all the associated artifacts appear selected and are unavailable for changes. The .rep file deploys the entire repository model along with all the associated artifacts.
  • You can also select individual artifact to deploy. The following components can be deployed as a single unit.
    • Repository
    • Relationship
    • Input Map
    • Output Map
    • Data Source
    • Rulebase
    • Classification
    • Sync formats
    • Configurations
Note: If associated components are deployed, parent repository should be available on TIBCO Cloud MDM or else error occurs.

The server side validations are performed on selected modules before actual deployment. The validation page displays the summary of validation errors and information messages. The information messages describe the postdeployment updates to the metadata.

If there are errors in the module, the Finish button is disabled. You need to rectify the errors in the module and redeploy it. This default behavior can be turned off using preference menu. For more information on setting the preferences, refer to Setting Server Validation Preferences.

The following steps are involved in deploying modules:

Procedure

  1. In the Deployment pane, right-click the server name and click Connect.

  2. On the Select MDM Environment dialog box, make the appropriate selections and click OK. All the environments with running and partial running status are displayed.

  3. In the Deployment pane, right-click the server name and select Deploy Module. The Deploy MDM Design Artifacts(s) wizard opens.

  4. On the Select Modules page, select the modules you want to deploy and click Next.
    • To deploy all repositories along with the associated artifacts in the model, expand Repository Models and select the .rep model.
    • To deploy individual artifacts such as repository, relationship, input map, output map, perspectives and classification, select the check box associated with the artifact.
  5. Select the studio projects that you want to deploy on the Environment Console and click Next. For more information about downloading studio projects, see the "Download" section in TIBCO Cloud MDM guide.

  6. On the Project Selection page, select the project in which you want to deploy the modules. The selected modules are sent to the server for server side validations. The validation progress bar is shown at the bottom of the page.

  7. On the Repository Model Validation page, perform the following steps:
    • If there are no validation errors, click Next.
    • In case of validation errors, the Next button is disable.

      • Redeploy the model after correcting the errors and click Next.

  8. Select the data source file to upload.

  9. Click Finish.
