Data Query and Analysis

Using the dashboard search page, you can query the database that is the source of data presented in charts and drill down on that data to view more details. You can also drill down on the data underlying data points in charts.

Optional Features

  • If Query Manager is enabled, you can query and view all metrics and concepts in the database. See Metric and Concept Data Query Using Query Manager for details.
  • If metric tracking is enabled, the Drilldown Results section can display historical metric values as well as current ones, and extra information fields if any were configured. Metric tracking can be enabled globally or for individual metrics. See Viewing Drill Down Result for details.

If the above features are not enabled, then the search page only enables you to view the metrics associated with data points in charts.

If either of the these features is enabled, you can expand data in the Drilldown Results section of the search page, group them, and so on. You can also export them. See Viewing Drill Down Result.

Displaying Results in the Drilldown Results Section

You can display results in the Drilldown section in two ways:
  • By clicking Drilldown while pointing the cursor to a data point in a chart or state machine component. The metric row for that datapoint displays in the Drilldown Results section of the search page. See Viewing Drill Down Result.
  • Using the Query Manager section of the search page, you can define and execute a query against a concept or metric type. All matching instances display in the Drilldown Results section. See Metric and Concept Data Query Using Query Manager.
