Adding the Super_User Role Preference

Procedure

  1. In TIBCO BusinessEvents Studio Explorer, select the V_TickerTracker view. Click the New Role Preference toolbar button.
  2. You see the New Role Preference wizard. Name the role preference SUPER_USER and click Finish.
Note: The role name and the role preference names must match exactly, including case.

The SUPER_USER role is defined in the user password file. The V_TickerTracker view is selected automatically.

  3. The Role Preference editor opens. Click in the Gallery section. A window prompts you to provide a name for a new folder. By default, the root folder is called root. Click OK to accept this name.

The Gallery section displays controls (between the panels) to add more folders and populate them with charts. For this simple project, no sub-folders are required.

  4. Select the root folder, and click the chart () button between the panels. At the Chart Selector window, select the C_Tickers and C_TickersByPrice charts and click OK. Then save the resource.

Postrequisites

You have defined everything now to create a dashboard: The data-related resources, the charts that use that data, the pages that display the charts, the view that includes the pages, and the role preference that assigns the view and a gallery of charts to a user role. These are all the resources relating to TIBCO BusinessEvents Views features.

Next you will add supporting project resources to provide data to the metric, and complete the rest of the configuration required for any TIBCO BusinessEvents Views project that uses a cache. These tasks will be familiar to you if you have completed a cache-based project, such as the one documented in TIBCO BusinessEvents Getting Started.
