Configuring a Dashboard Agent

Dashboard agent configuration is generally simple, but provision is made for controls of various kinds to meet occasional needs.

Procedure

  1. Select the Agent Classes tab and do the following:
    1. Click Add Agent.
The New Agent Class pop-up window appears.
    2. In the Agent Class Name field, type a name.
    3. In the Agent Class Type field, select Dashboard.
    4. Click OK.
  2. In the tree on the left, select the dashboard agent class you created. Its configuration panel displays on the right.
  3. In the Personalized Data Location field, type the fully qualified path to a directory location that is available to the dashboard agent at runtime. Use a different location for different projects.
  4. In the Properties panel, do the following:
    1. Add agent-level authentication properties, as you did at the cluster level.
    2. Add the pull request port property and provide a value.
      be.agent.dashboard.pullrequestport

If you use the default value, 8181, you can omit the property.

  5. As needed, configure streaming modes to control how updates are sent from the dashboard agent to Dashboard. See Configuration of a Streaming Mode.
  6. As needed, configure a missing original policy. See Configuration of the Missing Original Policy for Personalized Charts.
  7. Refer to Dashboard Agent—Settings and Property Reference for a list of properties that might pertain to your situation. Default values for most properties are sufficient for most cases.
