Adding a View and a Role Preference

A view determines what is on a user’s dashboard. Role preferences associate views with user roles, so that users in those roles see the appropriate view.

View
A view is a collection of dashboard pages. It defines a user dashboard. A view also lets you select a skin for the dashboard. Support for custom skins is limited in this release.
Role preference
A role preference associates a view with a role. The user role that a user logs on with determines the view that the user sees. A role preference also defines the gallery of charts users in the role can see.
Gallery
A gallery defines what charts a Dashboard user can see. When defining a gallery you can select from all charts in the project, not just those selected for the view you assign to the role preference.
System skin
TIBCO BusinessEvents Views provides a well-designed skin called the system skin. By default, the TIBCO BusinessEvents Views assigns the skin resources to dashboard components automatically, ensuring that the chart colors and fonts and so on are used in a harmonious way. You can also select skin resources manually. Before you can do so, you must enable the system skin for use, as explained in TIBCO BusinessEvents Views Developer’s Guide. Support for custom skins is limited in this release.
