Migrating Adapter Projects created on TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks™ 6.x to Plug-in Projects

You can migrate a Files Adapter project created on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for Files for Unix and Windows project by using Refactor > Migrate Adapter to Plug-in option in TIBCO Business Studio for BusinessWorks.

For migrating a project successfully, the project must have at least one process using at least one of the adapter palette activities.

Projects supported for migration

Migration is supported for the following project specifications:

Migration Restrictions
  • You can migrate a ActiveMatrix® Adapter for Files for Unix/Win project created on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks™ Plug-in for Files for Unix and Windows. However, vice versa is not supported.
  • Migration supports only those ActiveMatrix® Adapter for Files for Unix/Win projects created on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x that have no design time or runtime errors. The projects must be validated and processes must run successfully end to end in the same workspace before migrating to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for Files for Unix and Windows projects.
  • Migration of Custom Schema check box in the General Tab of AE activities is not supported.
  • Migration from command line is not supported.
  • Migration on TIBCO BusinessWorks™ Container Edition is not supported.

Considerations When Migrating Projects
  • After migration to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for Files for Unix and Windows on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x, a 'Copy-of incompatible; names match, but content differs' error might occur when Copy-of input mapping is applied to non-leaf schema nodes of Publish to Adapter activity in project created by using ActiveMatrix® Adapter for Files for Unix/Win that is installed on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x

    This is because, the order of fields in the input tab of File Serializer activity is different in comparison with the Publish to Adapter activity that is attached to the subscription service.

    To remove the error, manually delete the input mapping then re-add the mapping again.

  • There are some files in the project that gets migrated fromActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x plug-in project. Such files should be ignored. For example, - ae folder and ae2xsd.xsd under Schemas folder, AESchemas folder, etc.
