Running the Add-on Plug-in Installer from the Configurator
You can access the Add-on Plug-in installer wizard by using the Configurator. You can install the new version of ibi MDM Add-on for Global Data Synchronization over the version of ibi MDM or migrate from the existing version to the new version. You can install and run e all the necessary database scripts. The wizard also merges the ibi MDM Add-on for Global Data Synchronization configuration (ConfigValues.xml) with the main ibi MDM configuration.
Before you begin
Before running the Add-on Plug-in installer wizard, perform the following tasks:
- To useibi MDM Add-on for Global Data Synchronization, you must first install the latest version of ibi MDM.
- To migrate from the existing version of ibi MDM to the latest version, see the "Upgrade to ibi MDM" section in ibi™ MDM Installation and Configuration Guide.
- Before you begin the migration, take a backup of the existing database, ConfigValues.xml file, and the add-on component such as MQ_COMMON_DIR.
- Procedure
- Log in to the TIBCO Configurator.
- From the Tools menu, select Add-on Plug-in Installer.
- In the
Add-on Plug-in Installer window, perform the following steps:
- Select Plug-in for ibi MDM Add-on for Global Data Synchronization - version.
- Select one of the installation modes:
Select Install new Version to install the new version.Select Migration from existing version to migrate to the new version from your current version. From and To versions must be provided.
- Click Next.
- In the
Select Installation Type window, do one of the following:
Complete: By default, this option is selected. If this option is selected, all the default components - Database,
ConfigValues.xml, and the Add-on components (all other required files) are migrated.Custom: Select Custom to specify the individual components to migrate.- Database: Selecting this option updates the existing database with new tables and updates the existing tables.
- ConfigValues.xml: Selecting this option merges the configuration properties of ibi MDM and ibi MDM Add-on for Global Data Synchronization.
- Add-on components: Selecting this option updates MQ_COMMON_DIR with some required components.
Note: If you are migrating from 3.0.2 to 4.0.0 version, the database migration is already completed as a part of ibi MDM migration. Therefore, select only the ConfigValues.xml and Add-on components options. - Click Next.
- In the
Plug-in Installation Details window, verify the path for
MQ_COMMON_DIR .
This value is automatically detected based on environment variables. You can update this path if required.
- Click Next.
- In the
Define Database Details window, select the Database Name, User Name, Password, Database Home, and MDM Tablespace Name (this information is retrieved from
ORACLE_HOME). The default value for the MDM Tablespace Name isVELODBDATA1. - Click Next.
- In the
Define Database Details window, select the Database Name, User Name, Password, Database Home, and Server Name (this information is retrieved from
SQLSERVER_HOME). - Click
Finish.
The installation summary is displayed. The output logs are also displayed and can be downloaded for troubleshooting, if required.
