Chapter 3 Working with a Revision Control System : ClearCase

ClearCase
ClearCase tracks the file versions used to build a product release and helps to organize the work of groups of engineers.
ClearCase requires that a directory element be checked out before any elements within it can be checked out. This implies:
Creating or Modifying a ClearCase Project
To Create a ClearCase Project

Select New empty project.

In the Save Project dialog, select ClearCase from the Multi-User System combo box.

In Project Directory, browse to your ClearCase View and provide a project name. For example, Z:\<view>\<projectname>.

In Cleartool Command, browse to your ClearCase installation and select the ClearCase executable, cleartool.exe.

Select the View Type.
8.
Click the Test Configuration button, then click OK if the test configuration is successful.

In the Project window, select the project root folder, right click and select Add Resource to RCS.
10.
Select Multi-User>Check in Changes to check in the project into ClearCase.
