Unescape an identifier (a column/hierarchy/view name).

Removes the '[' and ']' characters at the beginning and end of the string and replaces all occurrences of ']]' with a single ']' character.

Parameters

identifier
Type: SystemString
The escaped identifier.

Return Value

Type: String
The unescaped identifier.
Exceptions

ExceptionCondition
ArgumentExceptionThrown if the identifier does not start with '[' and ends with ']'.
Remarks

The identifier must start with the '[' character and end with the ']' character.
Examples

UnescapeIdentifier("[a]]]") gives the result "a]"
