Running a Statistica Data Function

When you run a Statistica Data Function the results are populated under the Data tab in Spotfire instance.

A Statistica Data Function can be run on demand using the Statistica Integration dialog box.

Procedure

  1. In the Spotfire menu, go to Tools > Statistica.
  2. Make the necessary modification to input and output parameters.
You can proceed even without making any changes to the parameters. All input parameters of Statistica data functions are optional.
  3. To manually run the workspace, select the data function under Data Functions tab, right-click the selected field, and click Run.
Note: Statistica Data Function requires the workspace to be accessible at the path from which the workspace was discovered during the data function registration process at the time of data function execution phase. If the workspace is not found in the path from where the workspace was discovered, execution of the data function fails and an error message is generated.
  4. The Data Function runs and brings the outputs produced by the workspace (and connected to output parameters of the Statistica data function) back to Spotfire.
You can access the output through Spotfire > Data tab.
  5. The execution can be canceled using the Spotfire progress notification.
Note: Any errors or warnings messages generated during the execution of the Statistica Data Function (including those generated during the workspace execution) are propagated to the Notifications area in Spotfire.
