Introduction 

Federator extends the power of your existing DataSynapse 
installations by enabling you to move groups of resources 
among your Silver Fabric clouds and GridServer grids. You 
can do this automatically through a schedule, through a 
schedule with demand-based rules, or manually. 

This release provides a full product installation. It does not 
require a prior installation.

Additional Information 

   All Linux distributions that are materially equivalent to the above
   listed Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions are supported.
      
   Platforms, versions, configurations, and components not listed in
   this document are not supported.
      
   When using Java 1.7, your operating system must meet Oracle's
   system requirements, including version and patch level.   
   
   DataSynapse Federator releases support operating systems versions
   for which the applicable vendor provides both active support and 
   standard support.  Active support means that bug fixes and security
   fixes are provided on a timely basis.
       
   Standard support means that these fixes are provided as part of 
   the vendor's base support package, without requiring any additional
   surcharge. This minimum level of support is currently met by the 
   following OS vendor support levels:
       
       Microsoft: Mainstream Support
       Sun: Vintage Phase 1 Support
       RedHat: Maintenance and Errata Support
       Novell: Maintenance Phase Support
       TIBCO may change this operating system version support policy 
       in the future at its option, at any time, without prior notice,
       due to changes in OS vendor support policies or other technical
       or business considerations.

Additional Information 

   License Requirements
   
           DataSynapse Federator requires a license file on each 
           running instance.  The license is included in the root 
           directory of the product download archive.
   
   Java Library Requirements
   
           DataSynapse Federator requires a Java 2 Standard 
           Edition (J2SE) SDK installed on the Federator 
           machine. Note that the Java JRE is not supported. 
           You must use the Java SDK. Also, each Client system 
           requires a copy of the J2SE SDK. One of the following 
           Sun Java SDKs is required for all components:
   
               Java SE 6 or later
   
   GNU Tar
   
           Solaris systems require GNU tar to unarchive the 
           DataSynapse Federator installation and SDK.
