Layout Editor

TIBCO BusinessWorks FormBuilder includes the Layout Editor utility for designing custom layouts. This editor is meant for simple operations, such as adding and resizing panes.

For complex template modifications, use a third-party HTML editor.

To Use the Layout Editor

1.	Click on the Panes resource, which is located in the Layout folder.

The Layout Editor buttons are added to the right of the TIBCO Designer’s toolbar.

Use the Layout Editor buttons to edit the project in the design panel.

Icon		Description
	Table Wizard	Displays the Table Wizard dialog, which adds a new table with the specified number of rows and columns to the layout.
	Add a New Row	Adds a new row to the layout table.
	Add a New Column	Adds a new column to the layout table.
	Add a Pane	Adds a layout pane in the selected empty table cell.
	Edit Properties	Displays the Properties dialog for editing the layout properties of the current pane, table cell, and table.
	Split Cell	Divides the current table cell into two separate cells.
	Merge Cells	Combines two or more selected table cells into a single cell.
	Delete Cell	Deletes the current table cell.

To Edit Properties

1.	Each layout element has a set of properties that can be modified. To display the Properties dialog, select the Panes resource, and do one of the following:

−	Click the Edit Properties toolbar button .

−	Double-click in the design panel.

2.	The Properties dialog appears.

Most properties map directly to HTML table attributes for the specific element type. To check table and cell properties field names, look at the table in the section Pane, Table and Cell Properties.
