Holding Service Orders in Order Queues

Use order queues to collect service orders that cannot be promptly provisioned. You can select and view service orders in the queues.

Note: Order queues automatically place checkpoints in the incoming service orders (see also Checkpointing Service Orders). Therefore, it is not necessary to place a checkpoint module immediately before or after an order Queue.
Order queues

There are three sub-types of order queues:

  • Standby

  • Error

  • Completed

For more details about this module, refer to the component documentation.

For more information on two special order queue types, Gate and Sequencer see Using Gates to Control the Flow and Sequencing Customers Service Orders.

Standby

Send service orders to a Standby module when the provisioning of the service order should resume at a later time. The Standby order queue continues with the provisioning for:
  • individual service orders
  • a selected group of service orders
  • all service orders.
