Inheriting Parameters from Another Pattern
- On the left-hand pane, select the pattern by clicking its name.
- Click Edit.
- In the edit screen of a pattern, select the name of the <parent pattern> from the Parent pattern drop-down box.
- Click Save. The inherited parameters appear, together with their inherited default values. You can override these inherited defaults using the pull-down list in the Valid values column.
Note:
In the child pattern you can add new parameters, but you cannot remove the ones inherited from the parent pattern.
The inherited and 'local' parameters will be separated into two sections, with the inherited section marked as 'Inherits from <pattern name>'.
When you submit changes on these web pages, you are instantiating the corresponding types in a Kabira Infrastructure Server (KIS) and relating those instances accordingly. At the same time, you are generating a configuration file: cps.def.
If you omit any of a parameter's parameters from the specification in the pattern, Fulfillment Catalog uses default values for those parameters.
