Extracting the 275

The Translator Attachment Adapter extracts the attachment from the X12 275 XML file BIN02 (5010) or BDS03 (6020) segment.

The following illustrates the extraction process:

  1. The X12 275 transaction, with an attachment contained in the BIN02 (5010) or BDS03 (6020) segment, is received and flows into the 275 Extractor.
  2. The 275 Extractor uses Translator and Java code to separate the data.
  3. The information is sent to the 275 Payload Extractor.
  4. Within the 275 Payload Extractor, Translator uses specialized maps and Java calls to translate the EDI, including CDA and Attachment, into two EDI files: CDA header and attachment.
