Directing Instream and Desktop to use the Shared Directories
To direct Instream and Desktop to use the Shared Directories, you need to edit to the DIR.ini file to specify the correct location.
Before You Begin Create a shared directory, and copy or move shared files to this directory.
- Procedure
- On each local machine, go to the Instream's or Desktop's Bin directory and edit the $DIR.ini file with a text editor like Notepad.
- Replace the
BASEROOT
entry with the shared path that holds the Bin, Database, and Static directories. In this example, the shared directory is SharedForesight, which is on machine \\Fs-fp in high-level directory support:[Directories] BASEROOT ="\\Fs-fp\support\SharedForesight"
- If you are using UserTables or Partner Automation, make these changes in the
$DIR.ini:
[UserTables] UserTable = "\\Fs-fp\support\SharedForesight\Bin\SampleUserTable.TXT" PARTNERAUTOMATION = \\Fs-fp\support\SharedForesight\Bin\ SamplePartnerAutomation.csv
- If you have an environment variable FSVALIDATORDESKTOPROOT from a previous version of Desktop, delete it under Control Panel or System.
