CCI Edits

HIPAA Validator Desktop will enforce Correct Coding Initiatives (CCI) for Part B Medicare Carriers from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS):

• Certain TIBCO Foresight guidelines will enforce CCI when you validate with them or use GuideMerge to merge your own guidelines with them. These are flagged with a CCI notation to remind you in the section "HIPPA Guidelines" in the document TIB_fsp_desktop_n.n.n_GuidelineReference.pdf.
• To have CCI rules enforced during validation, set CheckCCIEdits=1 in your APF. This is set to 0 by default.
• You can create your own business rules that enforce CCI if you have EDISIM® (see TIB_fsp-desktop_n.n.n_BusinessRules.pdf).
