Upgrade Migration to a New Release

Read these instructions before upgrading from an earlier TIBCO FTL release.

The upgrade tasks you must complete depend upon the release from which you are upgrading.

  1. Upgrading from Release 6.x
    You can upgrade from Release 6.x to Release 6.1 using a rolling upgrade, that is, one server at a time. The FTL server and service components Release 6.1 can cooperate in the same realm with components from earlier releases (starting with Release 6.0), so you can upgrade without a complete shutdown of the FTL servers.
  2. Differences When Upgrading from Release 5.x to 6.x
    Release 6.x simplifies component execution. Some of the tools you have used with earlier releases can be eliminated when you migrate.
  3. Planning for Migration from Release 5.x to 6.0 or Later
    Upgrade migration from Release 5.x to Release 6.x involves several tasks. Before you begin, organize your work with this planning task.
  4. A: Migrating from Release 5.3 or Earlier
    Migrating to Release 6.x from Release 5.3 or earlier is a two-phase process, requiring an intermediate stop at Release 5.3.
  5. Migrating from Release 5.4
    You can migrate an enterprise from Release 5.4 to Release 6.x without interrupting service. Complete the following multi-phase procedure.
