Modification Lock

The realm workspace is protected by a lock, so that only one administrator at a time may modify it.

The FTL server GUI's edit mode requires holding the lock. If you hold the lock, then you can use the GUI to modify the definition. If you do not hold the lock, the interface is read-only.

To obtain the lock and edit the realm definition, an administrator must be in the ftl-admin authorization group.

The lock is not required for management operations, such as purging durables from a persistence store, or saving the state of a persistence service.
