Pre-installation Worksheets

The most time-consuming part of an adapter installation is the collection of environment information and parameters. This section helps you complete this process.

Use the forms provided in this section to gather information from the various system administrators within your organization before installing the adapter.

Adapter Machine Information

The information listed in Table 3, Adapter Machine Information Worksheet is required during installation of TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for LDAP.

 

Table 3 Adapter Machine Information Worksheet 

Adapter Machine Information	Description	Value for Your Machine
Hostname	Name of the machine on which the adapter is to be installed. (Example: adapter1.tibco.com)
IP address	IP address of the machine on which the adapter is to be installed. (Example: 192.168.12.12)
Installer user account	Account to log on to the machine with and run the installer. This user must have write permission to the TIBCO_HOME directory. (Example: administrator)
Installer user password	Password of the Adapter installer user account.
Installer user domain (Windows only)	Network domain to which the installer user account belongs. (Example: ENGR2)
Disk and path on which to install adapter	(Example: /opt/tibco)
How will machine be accessed	[ ] directly [ ] terminal server [ ] xterm [ ] telnet [ ] other: ………………………
How will installation files be transferred to machine	[ ] CD-drive [ ] Internet download [ ] FTP to machine [ ] network disk mounting

LDAP Information

Table 4, LDAP Information lists the parameters of the LDAP server that you need to configure the adapter. The specific parameter names and the type of information required depends on the LDAP server you are using. Check with your LDAP server administrator to determine exactly what information will be needed for your system.

User account	User account to be used for the LDAP server installation. (Example: jsmith)
User password	Password of the LDAP server installer user account.
LDAP server type	The type of the LDAP server. (Example: Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition)
LDAP server version	The version of the LDAP server.
LDAP server name	Name of the machine where the LDAP server is installed. (Example: peopleserver1.tibco.com)
LDAP port	The number of the LDAP server porter that the adapter is configured to listen to.
LDAP SSL port (if SSL is used)	The SSL port number of the LDAP server.
LDAP server certificate (if SSL is used)	The security certificate the LDAP server uses to authenticate SSL connections.
LDAP server certificate issuer (if SSL is used)	The issuer of the LDAP server certificate.

If you use OpenLDAP Software and need to run publication service, you must enable the accesslog overlay feature of OpenLDAP during the server installation.
