Chapter 1

Introduction

TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for LDAP brings LDAP servers into the TIBCO interoperability framework. The adapter allows applications configured for the TIBCO environment to communicate with LDAP servers without any knowledge of LDAP protocol, LDAP APIs, and LDAP server implementation. Applications can use messages on either the JMS or TIBCO Rendezvous transport to retrieve information from or update LDAP servers, or receive changes occurring on the LDAP servers.

This manual provides a hands-on introduction regarding how to set up and run TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for LDAP examples.

The examples in this manual demonstrate how the adapter interacts with TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks. The TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks examples are available in the examples subdirectory of the adapter installation directory.
