Basic Installation

For TIBCO iProcess Engine Basic Installation, complete the following steps:

1. Select the Basic radio button in the Setup Type dialog box, then click the Next button. The Choose Destination Location dialog box is displayed.

2. Click the Browse... button to specify a Destination Folder where you want to install iProcess Engine.
Note:

The Destination Folder is named SWDIR.

The length of the SWDIR full pathname must not exceed 64 characters.

If you are installing iProcess Engine on a computer that is part of a Windows cluster, SWDIR must be located on a cluster storage device that is accessible to all nodes in the cluster.

Here, SWDIR is the iProcess system directory where the TIBCO iProcess Engine is installed.

3. Click the Next button. The Group & User Configuration dialog box is displayed.

4. Review the information in the Group & User Configuration dialog box and enter the password for your iProcess Engine administrator account. For detailed information about configuration options in this dialog box, see Group & User Configuration.
5. Click the Next button.

If you are using an Oracle database with iProcess Engine, skip this step.

If you are using a SQL Server database with iProcess Engine, the SQL/ODBC Details dialog box is displayed. For detailed information about configuration options in this dialog box, see SQL/ODBC Details.

  1. Select the Choose An Existing ODBC Data Source or Enter A New ODBC Data Source radio button in the dialog box.

    Note: The supported ODBC Data Source is 64-bit. If you select Choose An Existing ODBC Data Source, the system will display only 64-bit ODBC datasource.
  2. Check or uncheck the You Have DBA Privileges (To Create A Database And Users) check box.
  3. Click the Next button.

If you entered a new ODBC Data Source name, the ODBC Source Not Found dialog box appears and the following prompt is displayed in it: 

ODBC Source does not exist. Do you want to create it?

Click the Yes button to open the Database Details dialog box. Click the No button to return to the SQL/ODBC Details dialog box, and choose a different ODBC Data Source name.

6. Configure the database that iProcess Engine will connect to in the Database Details dialog box. For detailed information about configuration options in this dialog box, see Database Details.

If you are using an Oracle database with iProcess Engine, the configuration options are listed in Configuration Options in the Database Details Dialog box - Oracle. The Database Details dialog box is displayed.

— Enter the Oracle database service (TNS) name.
— Enter the Database Admin Username and password.
— Check or uncheck the Support Unicode Encoding check box.
— Click the Change button to change the database users, if needed.
Note: On clicking Change, you will be redirected to dialog box window of DBusers dialog box.
— Click the Next button. The installer now tries to connect to the Oracle database using your specified settings and performs a number of checks against your Oracle configuration. See Configuration Options in the Database Details Dialog box - Oracle for detailed information. The Select Tablesizes Profile dialog box is displayed.

— Click the Next button. The Confirm Tablespace dialog box is displayed. Select whether you want to create all objects in IPEDATA tablespace or use tablespace names exactly as specified in tablesizes file in the dialog box.

— Click the Next button. The "Choose Oracle 64-bit installed location" dialog box is displayed.

— Click the Next button. The Select Components to Configure dialog box is displayed.

If you are using a SQL Server database with iProcess Engine, the configuration options are listed in Configuration Options in the Database Details Dialog Box- SQL Server. The Database Details dialog box is displayed.

— Enter the iPE DB Owner login name and password.
— Enter the iPE DB User login name and password.
— Check or uncheck the Support Unicode Encoding check box.
— Click the Next button. If the database users that you entered in the dialog box do not exist, the installer can create them for you. The Select Components To Configure dialog box is displayed.
7. Select components that you want to configure during the installation in the Select Components To Configure dialog box, as shown in Select Components to Configure Dialog Box. For more information about configuration options in this dialog box, see Select Components To Configure.

8. Click the Next button. In step 7, if you check
— the Configure Email Plug-in check box, the SMTP Server Parameters dialog box appears. Configure the parameters that the iProcess Email Server Plug-in will use to connect to an SMTP server. For more information about configuration options in this dialog box, see SMTP Server Parameters .
— the Install iProcess ‘Web Server’ Service check box, the TIBCO iProcess Web Server Configuration dialog box appears. Specify the location of TIBCO Hawk and TIBCO Rendezvous that are used by the iProcess Web Server service. For more information about configuration options in this dialog box, see Select Components To Configure.
— the Enable IAP check box, the Default Java Message Service dialog box appears. Configure the necessary Java Message Service (JMS) parameters to enable Activity Monitoring and Work Queue Delta publication on TIBCO iProcess Engine. For more information about configuration options in this dialog box, see TIBCO iProcess Web Server Configuration.
— any other check box, the Start Copying Files dialog box is displayed. Review the current settings in this dialog box.
9. Click the Next button to proceed with the installation. If you have checked the Configure iProcess Objects Server check box in Select Components to Configure Dialog Box, The TIBCO iProcess Objects - Server Configuration Utility dialog box is displayed.

— Set your desired configuration parameters for iProcess Objects Server. For more information about the available parameters, see TIBCO iProcess Objects Programmer’s Guide or TIBCO iProcess Objects Server Administrator’s Guide.
— If you are installing to a Microsoft Windows Cluster, you must specify that iProcess Objects Server uses a static port (using the TCP tab).
10. Complete the installation. After completing the installation, the Setup Complete dialog box is displayed. You can choose to restart your computer right now or later.

11. Click the Finish button to exit the installation program.
