Backup, Restore, and Archive in AWS

In versions 6.1.1 and later, the backup, restore, and archive operations are available for LogLogic EVA in an AWS environment.

You can use Elastic File System (EFS) for the backup, restore, and archive operations. These operations require the use of a static IP address. However, in AWS environment, the static IP address of the instances might change.

The server and client for backup, restore, and archive can be configured in the following ways:

  • Within the same virtual private cloud (VPC) subnets
  • Within different VPC subnets

The following sections describe the IP configuration required to be performed on AWS to be able to use the standard backup, restore, and archive processes for these scenarios:

Configuration of the server and client See this topic
Within the same virtual private cloud (VPC) subnets Configuring Server and Client within the Same VPC Subnet
Within different VPC subnets Configuring Server and Client in Different VPC Subnets

After the configuration, run the archive, backup, or restore process as per instructions in the TIBCO LogLogic® Log Management Intelligence Administration.

Warning: Ensure that the following ports are enabled in the security group for both the server VPC and the client VPC:
  • For an NFS protocol user: TCP ports 2049 and 111 (server), and the required port range for the rpc.mountd and rpc.statd services
  • For an SCP protocol user: TCP port 22

Contact your NFS server administrator to obtain the port range for the rpc.mountd and rpc.statd services.
