Configuring Server and Client within the Same VPC Subnet

Procedure

To configure the IP addresses for backup or archive operations:

  1. Get the private IPs from the server and the client instances on AWS.
  2. On the LogLogic LMI instance, navigate to the Backup Configuration tab, and enter the server's private IP address as the archive or backup destination.
  3. On the server VPC in AWS, enter the private IP address of the LogLogic LMI instance as the client IP address.

To configure the IP addresses for restore operations:

  1. If the LogLogic LMI instance to which you want to restore the data is freshly deployed from an AMI snapshot or a new AMI image, make sure that the instance is assigned the same private IP address in the same VPC where the backup was taken. If it is not the same, follow steps in Private IPv4 Addresses and Internal DNS Hostnames to change the IP addresses.
