To migrate data from an existing (source) appliance to a new (destination) appliance, you must configure data migration on the source appliance (10.0.20.31, in this example) and then on the new appliance (10.0.20.33).
Note: When migrating data for an HA pair, the source appliance being configured for failover satisfies the requirement. You do not need to disable failover and enable data migration on the source appliance.
Prerequisites
If you are migrating data from a
LogLogic MX Appliance to a
LogLogic LX Appliance, you must run the migration script to match the number of maximum supported devices between
LogLogic MX Appliance and
LogLogic LX Appliance before actual migration starts. To run the migration script, perform the following steps:
- Login to the
LogLogic MX Appliance through the CLI, as a
toor user.
- Run the following command from the
/loglogic/scripts directory:
sh prep_migration_mx2lx
- Type
yes to continue.
