Define - EMS Connection Details

From the Define - Connections: EMS page, click Add or double-click an existing EMS connection, and then the EMS Connection Details page is displayed.

The following table describes the items that are available on the EMS Connection Details page:

Item Description
Name Type an EMS connection name.
Description Type a short description for the EMS connection.
Startup

If you want to start this ESB during Substation ES startup, select this check box.

Multi Session

If you want to use a multisession, select this check box.

EMS Endpoint Type an EMS endpoint, or click the icon to select one.
EMS SSL Type an EMS SSL, or click the icon to select one.
User ID Type a user ID.
Password Type the password associated with the user ID if a special identification applies to the connection.
Connection and Reconnection In this table, the following fields are available:
  • Attempts: the number of connection attempts and reconnection attempts
  • Delay (ms): the time between two connection attempts or reconnection attempts
  • Timeout (ms): the timeout value of connection and reconnection
Metric Select None, Connections, or Byterate from the list.
Network Code Page Type the set value for the network code page.

The set value must be same to the one that you specified for the host code page. If you change this value, make sure that all sending and receiving programs or processes use the same code-page settings.

Host Code Page Type a different host code page set value that causes string conversions to be treated differently.
TCP/IP Stack Name Type the IBM stack name to be used with this connection. If this TCP/IP stack name is different from the default name defined with the STACK-NAME parameter in the Substation SIP member, the stack name specified in this field is used for this connection.
Interface Click the icon to select an interface, and you can also click the icon to add one more interface.
When you select the Create Admin Connection check box, the Admin Connection Details panel is displayed with the following items:
User Type the user ID for Admin connection.
Password Type the password for Admin connection.
