Purge Log File

The Purge log file (located in $MQ_COMMON_DIR\Temp\Year\Month\Date\Hour) provides details such as:

  • The Purge start date.
  • The member who initiated the purge.
  • The event descriptor.
  • The repository(s) Purge was applicable to.
  • The repository(s) ID Purge was applicable to.
  • The execution mode.
  • The number of rows deleted.
  • The number of records deleted.
  • All relevant data.
    Purge Log File

Purge logging impacts overall purge performance. You can disable purge logging by adding the boolean property com.tibco.mdm.purge.trace.enable and setting it to false. By default, this parameter is enabled, logging is enabled, and the log file has the details of the purge job. When the purge logging is disabled, the purge log file will still get created, but it does not have a full trace of what was deleted.
