Export and Import of Metadata
You may come across situations where you need to migrate the metadata of the components from a company to another company within or outside an organization. The source and destination companies can be located in different locations. In such cases, TIBCO MDM allows you to export and import the metadata of one company to another using the System Operations menu without using the FileWatcher utility.
By exporting or importing metadata, you are in essence exporting or importing only the record structure from one company to another. For example, if you have a structure called Product with Code, Name, and Description as its attributes, then importing the metadata retrieves these attributes of the Product. The records of one company are not retrieved to the other.
