Deleting a Hierarchy

You can delete a hierarchy from the Hierarchies page or from the hierarchy viewer page.

Prerequisites

Set the Hierarchy Delete Approval business process rule if you want approval for deletion of a hierarchy by generating the work item.
Ensure that the hierarchy is in the Published state.

On the Hierarchies page, select the hierarchy that you want to delete and then click Delete.
On the hierarchy viewer page, click More Actions icon next to Edit and select Delete.
Optional: On the confirmation message box, clear the Process through workflow check box if you do not want to process it through the workflow.
Click Yes, Delete to delete the selected hierarchy.
The selected hierarchy is deleted.
If the Hierarchy Delete Approval business process rule is set, a work item is created. Approver or work item owner can either accept or reject this work item. If the work item is rejected, the Hierarchy delete operation is reverted and the previously published hierarchy is available for use. The hierarchy Version History page shows that the delete operation is rejected.
