You can import the JSON file to create a new hierarchy. The format of the JSON file is similar to the format produced by export hierarchy. Import is not supported for the modification of a hierarchy. To modify a hierarchy, you must modify the JSON file before or after the import.
Prerequisites
To create a work item for the imported hierarchy, you must select the Hierarchy Create Approval business process rule before importing the hierarchy.
Procedure
On the
Hierarchies page, click
Create and select
From JSON File.
On the
Upload JSON File page, drag the JSON file to the page or browse to the file location and select the appropriate file.
The hierarchy workflow initiated successfully message is displayed along with the event ID.
The JSON file is validated for errors such as duplicate names and the required JSON format. A list of all errors that occur is displayed on the page.

The uploaded hierarchy is displayed on the
Hierarchies page. The newly imported hierarchy is processed through workflow and is published. However, if you have set the Hierarchy Create Approval business process rule, a work item is created for the imported hierarchy.
