Hierarchy Requirements
A comprehensive hierarchy model is characterized by flexible modeling, data stewardship control, and data governance.
- Flexible Modeling: To create parent and child nodes and arrange them in the most efficient way for conducting business.
- Data Stewardship Control: To control the access to hierarchies. Subject matter experts of the hierarchy management can handle and assign roles.
- Data governance: To handle changes to the hierarchy, both from a structural and data quality perspective, and to maintain version history. The hierarchy model must have a workflow to process change requests and approvals on hierarchies.
