Creating a Rulebase-based Classification Scheme

Complete the following steps to create a rulebase-based classification scheme.

    Procedure
  1. Navigate to Browse and Search > Create Classification Scheme.

  2. Enter a name and description for the classification scheme.

  3. (Optional) from the Data Source dropdown list, select the datasource from which the classification codes are to be uploaded.

Note: The Data Source dropdown list is not visible if a datasource is not defined or uploaded.
Note: If you have already created the classification scheme, you can still upload the classification codes from the View Repository page.
Note: As a best practice, use only ASCII characters for the filenames. If the filenames contain non-ASCII characters and you attempt to copy the files between Windows, UNIX or Linux systems, there is a risk of the files getting corrupted.
  4. Select the Use Rulebase For Mapping checkbox.

  5. To upload a rulebase file from your computer, click Choose File and then select the rulebase file.

  6. Click Save.

  7. If you have selected a datasource in (Optional) from the Data Source dropdown list, select the datasource from which the classification codes are to be uploaded., you are prompted to check whether you want to upload the classification codes while creating the classification scheme. To save the classification scheme and upload the codes, click OK.

Or, to save the classification scheme without uploading the codes, click Cancel.

The rulebase file is uploaded to the $MQ_COMMON_DIR/enterprise/catalog/master/<repositoryid> directory.

Note: To prevent overwriting files with identical names in the specified location, avoid naming the rulebase file as catalogvalidation.xml or newrecord.xml.
