Graphical Editor

You can access the graphical editor from the following menus:
- Browse and Search > click Graphical Editor
- Browse and Search > select a record > click Graphical Editor
If you select this option, the left record list pane is hidden. - Browse and Search > Text Search > Graphical Editor option
The following panes are displayed on the Graphical Editor:
- Record list pane
- Repository Name: Contains a list of available repositories. Select a repository to view its records.
- Search option: Search for a specific record using
PRODUCTID
-PRODUCTIDEXT
in the record list. The selected record is highlighted in the record list. After clicking a record in the record list, relationship canvas is displayed.- You can click the Advanced Search link to filter records based on the values of record attributes. In the Record Search window, perform the following actions:
- Enter values for the record attributes and record state and click Search.
- To change the search criteria, click Clear to reset the criteria.
- Click Close to go back to the Graphical Editor page.
- You can click the Advanced Search link to filter records based on the values of record attributes. In the Record Search window, perform the following actions:
- Add Record: Click to add a new record. For information, see Adding Records to a Repository.
- Relationship canvas pane with the record node
- Relationship canvas pane with the relationship node
- Relationship list: By default, all relationships are displayed. Select the relationship to view its graphic view on the canvas.
- Navigate the relationship tree on the left, right, and at the center of the canvas
- Parent node displays the count for child nodes. You can expand or collapse the child node by clicking the node count. The node with no count is a leaf node.
- Click the level number to directly navigate to the selected level in the tree
On the record node:
Modify the record and related record attributes. See Modifying Record and Relationship Attributes.
Remove related record: Click Remove Related Record on the record node. A confirmation message is displayed. Click Yes, remove. The
Related Record Deleted successfully
confirmation message is displayed. If any error occurs, the errors are displayed in the error pane with details.
On the relationship node:
- Add a new related record. See Creating Related Records.
- Add existing related record. See Adding Existing Related Records.
- Search related record. See Searching Related Records.
- Validate, save and process, save, or cancel the modified record hierarchy.
- Validate: For successful validation, a confirmation message is displayed.
- Save and Process: The record is saved in the repository and the left record list is updated with a new record.
- Save: The record is saved in the Confirmed state if you have permission to save a record without workflow.
- Cancel: The record and its associated relationships are not added.
- Back: You can go back to the Browse and Search page. The record modifications are not saved.
If the record contains errors, error notifications are displayed in the upper right corner. Click Errors to view a list of errors. Resolve the errors and click Validate again. Note: If a record has an error, all records cannot be saved until the record with the error is either corrected or removed from the list.
However, when you create a new related record, you can save a related record with errors. For information, see Creating Related Records.
On the Browse and Search page, click Graphical Editor without selecting a record. The record list pane is displayed. The left pane includes the following options:
Record hierarchy is represented as a tree graph on the user interface. By default, the tree graph spans from top to bottom. The pane includes the following options:
When you click Edit, the relationship mode on the canvas changes from view to edit. You can perform the following actions in the edit mode:
