Configuring Internal Clients

When Internet Server establishes connections to internal servers, the TCP connection uses the IP address of the Internet Server. Therefore the internal server detects that the Internet Server initiated the connection request. When using Connection Manager, the CMS initiates the TCP connection to the internal server. The internal server detects that the CMS initiates the connection request. So whenever an internal server is configured to accept connections from a particular IP address, you must configure the CMS IP Address, and not the Internet Server IP address.

Platform Server

Procedure

  1. When Platform Server is configured to Require Node Definitions or is using responder profiles, create a node definition for each CMS Server that can connect to the Platform Server.
  2. If you are using responder profiles, add a responder profile for each CMS node definition.

Database Server

Procedure

  • If database servers are configured to accept connections from particular Internet Servers, configure the IP addresses or IP names of all the defined CMS Servers that can connect to this database server.
