Upgrading from Version 7.2.5

You can upgrade TIBCO MFT Command Center from version 7.2.5. When upgrading from version 7.2 or an earlier version, you should install a separate Java installation. This is because version 7.2 makes changes to the java.security file and adds executable jar files to the jre/lib/ext directory; newer versions of TIBCO MFT Command Center do not work if these changes are still in place. To allow fallback to 7.2.5, you should install a new Java version and use this for the TIBCO MFT Command Center installation.

Prerequisites

You must upgrade TIBCO MFT Internet Server to version 7.2.5 or a later version before upgrading TIBCO MFT Command Center to the current version.

Procedure

  1. Create a new installation directory to hold the TIBCO MFT Command Center new installation files needed on the server where TIBCO MFT Command Center 7.2.5 is installed and running.
  2. Stop the application or service.
  3. Uninstall TIBCO MFT Command Center.
If it is running on Windows, see Removing the TIBCO MFT Command Center Service on Windows for information on how to uninstall TIBCO MFT Command Center.
  4. Verify all the prerequisites are met by reading through the TIBCO MFT Command Center Readme file.
  5. Follow the instructions in Installing TIBCO MFT Command Center.

Result

When the installation is finished and you no longer want to keep the version 7.2.5 installation on your server, you can delete the old installation directory.
