IBM FIPS 140 requires IBM JAVA and is only supported on the following platforms:
z/Linux
AIX
Linux
There are two ways to implement IBM FIPS 140-2 support:
When using IBM JAVA, the installer prompts if you want to use IBM FIPS mode. If you enter
Y, the MFT installer makes the configuration changes necessary to run in FIPS140-2 mode.
If you want to convert an existing MFT installation to run in FIPS 140-2 mode, follow the instructions defined in "Configuring IBM JAVA FIPS 140-2 Manually".
Note: When FIPS is required, we suggest using BouncyCastle FIPS 140-2.
