Request Type Description
RENAME or R Renames a file, member, directory and stream file.
DELETE or D Deletes a file or member.
EXIST or E Checks if a file or member exists.

The first parameter is the request type, and it is required.

The second parameter is required and you must define the file name for each request type. Library name is optional for all request types and the member name is also optional. File name defined without a library name must be located in the user library list. Only on a Rename request type, a user can enter a directory name only or with a stream file name. The first position must be a forward slash to indicate the object is in the Integrated File System. This parameter must be within single quotes.

The third parameter is required only for the Rename request type. It defines the new file name only or the file name and the new member name. This parameter can be within single quotation marks or not. If this parameter has the file name and the new member name included together, then they must be within single quotes. If the new file name only is defined, then single quotation marks is optional. You can enter the new directory name or the new stream file name with or without single quotation marks.
