Creating Storyboards

Create and record a new storyboard.

Note: Authorizing and promoting storyboards must be done through the Author Client.

Procedure

1.Click the Storyboards link on the navigation bar.

2.Click Record new storyboard.

Note: If you want to create a storyboard within an existing folder, you must first navigate to the folder.

3.Type a name for the storyboard in the Storyboard name field.

Note: You can choose a different language to create the storyboard in from the language drop-down field.

4.To change the owner and/or author of the storyboard, click in the search field and start typing the name of the user.  Alternatively, click the down arrow to display a list of users.

The available users will be displayed as you type, therefore you may not need to enter the full name.
Hovering over a user may display additional user attributes.  These will only be available if they've been added to the user's account, and may include job title, department, reports to and description. This can be particularly useful in differentiating between users with similar names.

5.Click to add them.

6.Click Start recording.

You are now ready to start recording the steps of the storyboard.

7.Navigate to the diagram you want to start recording on.

8.Click each activity in order to record them as steps. To view the recorded steps click .

Note: You can navigate between diagrams by using the Diagram explorer. You can also edit or delete steps when in recording mode  For example, you can assign key steps or provide custom commentary text. You can also do this after creating the storyboard.

9.Click Done to stop recording the storyboard.

10.Enter a version number and any change log notes, if appropriate, and then click OK.

11.The storyboard will be saved and published to the user.
