Export a drill down |

Exporting a drill down will create a new map for all child diagrams under the activity that you are exporting from. Exporting a drill down is useful if you want to restructure a process map, i.e. if you want to move child diagrams to a new area of a map. It is also useful functionality if you want to create a copy of a set of child diagrams, for example if you are drawing a similar set of processes elsewhere in the hierarchy of the map. There are a number of options to consider when exporting a drill down, dependent upon the reason for doing so.
Redirecting Links One thing to consider when you export a drill down but choose not to remove the lower levels is where you want any diagram links (sign posts, flow-line links and diagram link attachments) and users' To-do items to point to after the export. An option in your user preferences - Show diagram link redirection prompt - allows you to choose to redirect diagram links and move users' To-do items to the exported diagrams during the process. Note that this option also applies when copying and pasting drill downs. If you don't enable this option then diagram links and To-do items will be maintained on the original diagrams.
Below is a table showing what happens to data when exporting or copying a drill down. Note that metadata refers to feedback, change requests, logs, users (authorizers, reviewers, acknowledgers) and access rights.
* This option requires the Show diagram link redirection prompt to be enabled in your user preferences.
Remove lower levels after export will delete the lower level diagrams from the map that you are exporting from (these can be restored using the Deletion Recover Manager if required).
Remove lower levels after export will delete the lower level diagrams from the map that you are exporting from (these can be restored using the Deletion Recover Manager if required). Include Attachments will include all file and Document Registry links. Note: If there are many attachments, or the attachments are large, then the process will be slow and a large packaged map will be created.
Note: To create a new child folder, select the parent folder to create it in and click New Folder.
