Split a map |
![]() ![]() ![]() |
You can move a drill down on an object (activity, free text box or image) to an object in another map. This essentially allows you to split large maps into smaller maps. All data will be transferred, including current authorizations, reviews, acknowledgements, actions, change requests, recurring reviews. Diagram links will also be updated by the system to point to the new location and all audit trails, templates and style sheets will be preserved.
Important Note: This operation will delete the drill down and all associated diagrams from the map that you are importing from. Since this operation cannot be undone, it is important that you proceed with caution.
Preparation To ensure data consistency when running this operation, it is advised that you run the following reports on the ‘current diagram and lower levels’ of the diagram where you are importing from before proceeding. •Diagrams •Attachments •Links •Authorizations •Reviews
Before running the import, you should make sure that no other users are accessing the diagrams that you are importing. The map you are importing from must also be closed before proceeding.
1.Navigate to the diagram where you want to move the drill down to, i.e. the target diagram. Note: You can either create a new object or select an existing one. If you select an existing object which already has a drill down on it then a process variant will be created. 2.Right-click on the object and choose Drill Down > Import and Remove Original. 3.In the Import and Redirect Drilldown window, select the map which contains the drill down that you want to move, and then click Next. 4.Navigate to the required diagram level and click the object that contains the drill down to select it, and then click Finish.
After the operation has successfully completed, check the log file for any issues. The log file is created in the following directory: {Nimbus Installation}\Process Repository\System\Logs Finally, run the same reports listed in the Preparation section on the ‘current diagram and lower levels’ of the diagram which you have imported the drill down into in order to compare the data for consistency.
