The Logging Level section of the Help and Support dialog is used to control the amount of logging that is done by the OpenSpirit extension and to view the log file used by the OpenSpirit extension.
The logging level selection drop down is used to control the amount of logging that is done by the OpenSpirit extension.
The logging level choices are:
Logging Level | Description |
Error | The error level produces the least amount of output to the OpenSpirit extension's log file. Only error messages are logged when using this logging level. |
Warning | The warning level is the default logging level. Errors and warnings are logged. |
Information | The information level logs errors and warnings as well as additional informational messages that may provide more insight into what was being done with the OpenSpirit extension. |
Debug | The debug level produces the most logging output. All errors, warnings, and informational messages are logged as well as very detailed messages that can be useful when investigating problems you are having with the OpenSpirit extension. The debug level should only be used during problem investigation. The log file may become very large and performance can be significantly impeded when using debug logging. |
The default level of detail is Warning. If you are trying to document a problem you have encountered it is often helpful to repeat the problematic workflow with the logging level set to Debug in order to forward the detailed log file to OpenSpirit support.
Leaving the logging level at Debug
may slow down some operations so it's best to restore it to a lower level
(e.g. Warning) when you are finished
documenting a problem.
Clicking on the button opens a window that allows
you to view and scroll through the OpenSpirit extension's log file. The
location of the log file is displayed above the log file contents and
a refresh button is provided to enable newly logged messages to be shown
in the log file viewer.
Clicking on the button opens a Windows file explorer
that is opened to the folder containing the OpenSpirit extension's log
files. This provides a convenient way to obtain log files to attach to
support issues. Log files from prior ArcGIS Pro runs are also available
in the log file folder.
