.By default the OpenSpirit extension will listen for OpenSpirit events when connected to OpenSpirit (data selection events, GIS feature selection events, and grid events). The Toggle Event Listening button in the OpenSpirit tool bar can be used to turn event listening on or off without disconnecting from OpenSpirit.
The Toggle Event Listening button
appears with a lightning bolt when event listening is turned on .
The Toggle Event Listening button
appears without a lightning bolt when event listening is turned off

By default, when you first connect to OpenSpirit listening is turned on. Events are not received when disconnected from OpenSpirit regardless of the state of the Toggle Event Listening button.
Note, the OpenSpirit extension's preference
settings can be used to turn on or off listening for specific types
of events. The OpenSpirit extension must be connected to OpenSpirit and
the Toggle Event Listening button
must have event listening turned on in order to receive events regardless
of your preference settings.
