Handling Existing Governance Controls for ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks

If you have configured Governance Controls for ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications, they will not be active on the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Engines after the upgrade to ActiveMatrix Policy Director 1.0.1. Perform the following steps to ensure that policies are applied correctly after the upgrade:

Procedure

If you do not need to retain the Governance Controls applied to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications:
1. Before installing and configuring ActiveMatrix Policy Director 1.0.1, ensure that the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications are running and undeploy the governance controls that are configured for them.
2. Perform the following steps, after ActiveMatrix Policy Director 1.0.1 is configured and running successfully:
  1. Stop and Undeploy the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications.
  2. Redeploy and start the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications.
  3. Redeploy the Governance Controls.
If you want to retain the Governance Controls applied to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications:
1. Stop the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications, restart the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications, and then stop it again.
2. Open each ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks application’s tra file and look for tibco.env.GOVAGENT_HOME. The ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Agent database in ActiveMatrix Policy Director 1.0 is located under $tibco.env.GOVAGENT_HOME/workarea/$domainName/$machineName/ applicationName/$instanceName/GovernanceAgentRuntimeDB.
3. Copy the GovernanceAgentRuntimeDB folder.
4. Browse to the folder where the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Engine for the same application is running. The new location for the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Agent database is under this folder in the governanceagent/workarea sub-folder. Paste the GovernanceAgentRuntimeDB folder in this location, or overwrite the existing GovernanceAgentRuntimeDB folder, if it exists.
5. Restart the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks applications.
