System Requirements

Ensure that you meet all the system requirements before installing this product.

Platform

Before you run the installer, ensure that the appropriate platform is supported. See the readme file for information regarding supported operating system platforms, versions, and the required patches.

Disk Space

The installer requires space in the temporary directory before installation and additional space in the temporary directory for running the installer. Ensure that sufficient space is available in the directory that you want to use as the installation environment TIBCO_HOME. See the readme file for the required disk space.

While installing the product, avoid running other processes that consume disk space in the installation environment directory. If another process consumes disk space while the installer is copying the files, the installer might fail and display a failure message.

System Memory

See the readme file for the required system memory.

Software

Ensure that you have installed the required software before you run the installer. See the readme file for supported products and versions.

The following TIBCO products are required.

Software	Description
TIBCO Silver® Fabric	Required. To use TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for ActiveSpaces, you must install TIBCO Silver Fabric.
TIBCO ActiveSpaces® Enterprise Edition Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric	To use TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for ActiveSpaces Enterprise Edition, you must first download the TIBCO ActiveSpaces® Enterprise Edition Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric.

 

Grid Libraries

The .zip files in grid libraries can be divided into two groups:

Enablers

Distributions

Distributions are compressed native products that are obtained separately from TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for ActiveSpaces. Distributions must be downloaded separately from the specific product area of the download site, https://edelivery.tibco.com. The TIBCO ActiveSpaces Distribution is in the TIBCO ActiveSpaces area of the TIBCO product download site.

The TIBCO ActiveSpaces distribution is used to deploy and run TIBCO ActiveSpaces on Silver Fabric Engines. Different distributions are provided for different platforms.

 

Distributions are dependent on platforms. Refer to the readme file for information on the supported platforms. For each platform, TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler requires the associated TIBCO ActiveSpaces Distribution.

Enablers

Enablers are used with TIBCO Silver Fabric and control how TIBCO ActiveSpaces is deployed to TIBCO Silver Fabric Engines. The enabler for TIBCO ActiveSpaces is configured using the TIBCO Silver Fabric Administration Tool interface to specify settings, installation, configuration, and deployment logic for TIBCO ActiveSpaces with Silver Fabric.

Enablers are supported wherever TIBCO Silver Fabric is installed. Enablers are not dependent on operating systems. The Silver Fabric broker detects the addition of any grid library enabler in the proper directory.
