Installation Requirements

This section describes the disk space requirements, system memory requirements, software requirements, and supported platforms for this product.

Disk Space Requirements

Before installing this product, extract the contents of the installation archive to a temporary directory. The installer files consume up to 1.5 GB of disk space.

Temporary Disk Space Required by the Installer

The installer requires at least 2 GB of free space in the temporary directory. On Microsoft Windows, the temporary directory typically is:

%SystemDrive%:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Temp.

If your system does not have sufficient disk space in the default temporary area, you can run the installer with a different temporary directory by using the following option when starting the installer:

-is:tempdir /new_temp

where /new_temp has sufficient free disk space.

The installer calculates the disk space required in the product home location for the selected components. The calculation is done before the actual installation (copying of files to the system) begins. The installer will proceed only if sufficient free disk space is available in the product home location.

However, if disk space is consumed by another process while the installer is copying the files, and if the required disk space is thereby reduced, the installer may fail and will then give a failure message.

While performing installation, avoid running other processes that consume disk space in the product home location.

Disk Space After Installation

This product can consume 2 GB of free space under SFHK_HOME.

System Memory Requirements

A minimum of 2 GB of physical memory is required.

Required and Optional Products

Table 2 lists the required and optional software products.

Software	Description
TIBCO Software The software products below are distributed and installed separately from this product. See the readme file for the supported versions.
TIBCO Silver® Fabric	Required. To use TIBCO Hawk® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric, you must install TIBCO Silver Fabric and the latest patch.
TIBCO Hawk®	Required. TIBCO Hawk® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric which provides the runtime artifact of TIBCO Hawk to be published and executed in TIBCO Silver Fabric. Optional. To create TIBCO Hawk projects, use TIBCO Designer™ with TIBCO Hawk.
TIBCO Rendezvous®	Required. TIBCO Rendezvous is added as a distribution so it can be used by TIBCO Hawk at runtime. The four distributions are available in a Silver Fabric TRA common rollup zip archive made specially for the targeted operating system.
TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ (EMS)	Optional. Messaging between Components may use TIBCO Enterprise Message Service (EMS) . TIBCO EMS and database products may be installed separately or they may be installed using the Silver Fabric Enabler for TIBCO EMS.

Grid Libraries

The TIBCO Hawk® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric installation consists of copying grid library artifacts to the TIBCO Silver Fabric broker directory:

SILVERFABRIC_HOME/fabric/webapps/livecluster/deploy/resources/gridlib/

For example, the default gridlib directory on a Linux platform is:
/opt/tibco/fabric/webapps/livecluster/deploy/resources/gridlib/

The Grid Libraries can be divided into two groups:

Enablers

•	Distributions

Enablers

Enablers create a component wizard configuration interface and a container for use with TIBCO Silver Fabric. This enabler configures and controls how TIBCO Hawk will be published to a Silver Fabric Engine. Using the TIBCO Silver Fabric Administration Tool specify settings, installation, configuration, and publishing logic for TIBCO Hawk® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric.

Enablers are supported wherever TIBCO Silver Fabric is installed. Enablers are not operating system dependent. The Silver Fabric Broker detects the addition of any Grid Library Enabler put in the proper directory .

TIBCO Silver Fabric Enabler for TIBCO Hawk includes these grid libraries:

•	SilverFabric_hawk_componentType_1.1.0.zip

•	SilverFabric_hawk_container_1.1.0_gridlib.zip

Distributions

Distributions are compressed native product installations built for a specific platform operating system. You can get distribution files from the parent product area of the download site. To be more specific, the TIBCO Hawk® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric is available for download form the TIBCO Hawk area of the TIBCO product download site:  https://edelivery.tibco.com

Once you have distribution grid libraries, they are put into the same TIBCO Silver Fabric Broker grid library directory as the enabler grid libraries. Distributions are published to the Silver Fabric Engines according to the configurations and allocation rules defined using TIBCO Silver Fabric Administrator and the Component Wizard.

The TIBCO Hawk® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric is used to publish and run TIBCO Hawk on a Silver Fabric Engine.

Different TIBCO Silver Fabric Engine platform will require a distribution created for that directory structure.

Distributions are dependent on platforms. Different platforms have different distributions.

For each platform, the installation requires TIBCO Hawk® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric and TIBCO Rendezvous® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric.

•	TIBCO Hawk® Distribution for TIBCO Silver® Fabric

•	TIBCO Rendezvous® distribution

Optionally you can also include the distribution for TIBCO Enterprise Message Service to support using TIBCO EMS as a transport.

•	TIBCO Enterprise Message Service distribution

Table 3 shows distributions provided for a Linux x86 64-bit platform.

If you want to run the same TIBCO Silver® Fabric Cloud with all supported platforms, you need to copy all the distributions to TIBCO Silver® Fabric Broker.
